About
The name "Syng Club" not only represents the gathering and exchange of sounds, but also reflects our passions for music and our vision for the future. All activities of Syng Club will never involve any political or religious words and deeds, but will only focus on all music-related activities and operate a pure and free music paradise.


Vision
The vision of Syng Club is to build a platform for music lovers to display their talents, so that they can inspire each other and make progress together. We firmly believe that everyone has unlimited musical potential, and Syng Club's mission is to tap and release this potential. We are committed to creating a pure and refined music community so that every member can enjoy the fun brought by music, find and achieve themselves in the process.
To achieve this vision, we will organize a variety of music activities, including but not limited to: arranging for members to shoot music videos with stories and connotations and posting them on the Internet as needed, organizing physical singing and instrument playing performances, and launching music-related training courses, etc. These activities are designed to not only allow members to show themselves, but also to learn and grow through interaction.

Ambition
The ambition of Syng Club is to become a well-known music platform at home and abroad in the future, and to promote the inheritance and innovation of music art. We hope that through our efforts, more people will fall in love with music and make music an indispensable part of their lives. We are also committed to building Syng Club into a cradle for youth music training, teaching them professional music knowledge and skills, and making them the pillars of music in the future.

Graduated from Maryknoll Practical Secondary School in 1971, major in mechanics and metalworks.

In 1972, James studied Art, Graphic and Design and Advertising Production and Planning at the Hong Kong Christian Service Kwun Tong Vocational Training Centre, and won the Bronze Award of "Hong Kong Industrial Poster Design Competition" that year.

In 1973, the "Zooms" band formed with Terence Tsoi and released an English special song covering "New Kids in Town" with EMI Records.

From 1976 to 1988, James worked as an editor, equipment maintenance technician and photographer at Salon Films (H.K.) Ltd. During this period, he worked with many famous Hollywood movies shot in Hong Kong, such as "Deer Hunter", "Indiana Jones - The Temple of Doom", “The Love Boat”, etc. while teaching drums at a music school during evenings.

From 1977 to 1979, James taught and organized pop bands for the 6th and 8th Artiste Training Classes of Hong Kong TVB and arranged for their performance at their graduation ceremony. During this period, he also performed live with TVB artists at the "Happy Wagon" variety show, an outdoor event in Hong Kong's 18 districts.

In 1980, James joined the Tsing Yi Amateur Drama Troupe and was responsible for sound engineer, set designer, drama director and actor.

In 1982, the newly organized "The Gain" Band won the Singing Ensemble Champion Award in the Amateur Singing Competition held by Commercial Radio. At that time, he was responsible for the lead singer and drummer. During the same period, he also won the bronze award in the Hong Kong Industrial Safety Popular Song Composition Competition.

From 1984 to 1989, James served as a director of photography for Hong Kong films and shot more than 10 productions, including <My Will, I Will 你情我愿>, <Reincarnation 天官赐福>, <Ghost in The House 吉屋藏娇>, <Doctor Vampire 僵尸医生>, <Robotrix 女机械人>, <King of Stanley Market 裤甲天下> and so on. During same period, James also composed original soundtracks for various films, including <Reincarnation 天官赐福>, <Robotrix 女机械人>, <The Spooky Family 捉鬼合家欢>, etc.

Long Year Production Ltd. was established in 1986 by James to operate commercials, documentaries, feature films, feature films and live recordings and broadcasts. In 1994, James further formed a joint venture with Luoyang Mining Company, Luoyang Baoying Production Co., Ltd. to engage in advertising production and jewelry and handicrafts business. At that time, the clients of Long Year Production Ltd. included Hong Kong MTR, Konka Television, Italian Ferragamo, Nanhai Pan Asia Aluminum Ltd., Pheonix Rice, Hoo Hing Superstore of London, Hong Kong Correctional Services Department, Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department, Hong Kong Macmillan Publisher Ltd., British Prudential Insurance, Hong Kong Land, AXA Insurance, AIA Insurance, White Flower Oil, Saint Honore Cake Shop, Bank of China, etc. In 1998, Skyview Ltd. was established in London, England by James and his partners. Skyview Ltd. undertook the Chinese advertising business in London and conducted a daily Chinese radio program called <Happy Hours for The Big City 城市好时光> in London.

In 1996, James cooperated with Pearl River Film Studio to shoot and direct the Hong Kong-style film "The Legend of Pearl River" featuring Hong Kong actors Wan Zhaolin, Gu Feng and Cheng Kui'an.

In 2015, James won the runner-up award in an open competition for a 30-second TV creative commercial production sponsored by a non-profit organization called "Will In Action".

From 2016 to 2018, James performed in various places in Hong Kong with guitarist Mr. Chan Kwok-wah and his guitar bank. Chan returned to Hong Kong from Austria after staying there for many years studying guitar. James was responsible for percussions part during such performance.

From 2016 to present, he has served as the African Djembe instructor of the "Caritas Yuen Long Elderly Activity Center" and established the "Brain Protection Drum Band" to perform regularly for the elderly in the community.

James has been a lifetime member of Composers and Authors Society of Hongkong since 1988.
Wing Leung Chan (Joe)
Music Director of Syng Club
A musician who combines the functions of composer, arranger, producer, music conductor, film soundtrack creation, and concert music director. Joe studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA, specializing in music and gained solid music theory knowledge and practical skills.
Joe is a qualified piano teacher recognized by the Royal Conservatory of Music of Canada. He has not only made achievements in the professional field, but is also committed to the promotion and inheritance of music education. As an active member of The Composers and Authors Society of Hongkong, he often communicates and learns with peers in the industry and jointly promotes the development of music creation.
Joe has accumulated more than 60 years of experience in music creation and production. His personal works and productions won numerous awards at Hong Kong TV and radio music award ceremonies in the 80‘s. His passion and ambition for music have never diminished or changed, and thus he insists on continuing to work hard on the music road to create more music with stories and bring a richer music experience to the audience.

Wing Fai Chan (John)
Operations & Finance Director of Syng Club
John has worked in Hong Kong and international banks for more than 40 years, including more than 30 years in management positions, accumulating rich management experience and financial expertise. Because of his passions for music, John has been actively participating in music activities in different fields since his retirement in 2014.
John loves music and film art. He has organized and participated in many rock bands in Hong Kong and Japan, and served as a drummer for many years. Not only has John enriched the color of his musical life, he has also demonstrated teamwork and musical talent. In addition, he has also written lyrics for Hong Kong pop songs and movie interludes, demonstrating his ability to cross-border integration. John is a lifetime member of the Composers and Authors Society of Hongkong.
